The Visioning Retreat was a game-changer in my journey as the founder of the Sick Kids Hospital Foundation. It played a crucial role in helping me overcome various obstacles and challenges that I had been facing. The retreat provided me with fresh strategies and perspectives in managing the organization. One of the key benefits of the Visioning Retreat was engaging in insightful discussions with fellow visionaries in the healthcare space, which allowed me to gain new perspectives on tackling challenges. Hearing different experiences and approaches opened my mind to alternative solutions that I had not previously considered, especially the introduction of technology to increase the accessibility of vulnerable children to quality healthcare services. After the Visioning Retreat the following activities were carried out at the organization; 1- A 5-year strategy session to determine our activities for the next 5 years. 2- Designing our website 3- Production of video documentaries of our past beneficiaries 4- Registering other team members on necessary training needed for their personal development. During the retreat, DDK has advised that we make videos of our work to make our impact more alive for our donors and the public. And we did a video of our Ramadan Hospital Visitation project, and through the video, we raised over ₦2,000,000. Since then we have embarked on a journey of documentary for all our beneficiaries.

The Visioning Retreat was EXPLOSIVE, REDEFINING and MIND-OPENING, and provided my team and I with pragmatic principles to build fundamental systems to enable us maximize and deepen impact. The Retreat deconstructed complex concepts and narratives into easy-to-understand and digestible principles with real-life examples. It provided tools and insights that helped sharpen my clarity and generated tangible value through the work I do. The regimented curriculum of the Visioning Retreat is pragmatic and encompassing.

With my active participation in the Visioning Retreat, my entire approach transformed. The very first change was in my perspective – I transitioned from being solely focused on work to prioritizing self-discovery and inner harmony. Recognizing the importance of self-investment became a top priority for me. I came to understand that, while my team and the organization depend on me as an asset, I need to be a healthy and a balanced leader to effectively lead. I also initiated weekly sessions with my team members to encourage them to strive for a balanced life in all aspects. In terms of the organization, we introduced the concept of the life wheel to our team members, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. Out of the 12 pillars of wealth assets, we are about to select one, specifically trademarks, to educate and uplift our community. I've also made a conscious effort to invest in myself, recognizing that I am the greatest asset to ONE FOUNDATION. Furthermore, I'm in the process of shifting my career trajectory from Animal Science to strategic leadership and human development, and I am confident that this is the right direction for me. I take immense pride in my abundance mindset, fully aware of my worth and the value I bring to any endeavor. During the retreat, I acquired the skill of envisioning a desired future and learned how to connect the dots and push beyond limitations. In terms of knowledge, I now understand that even as a nonprofit organization, it's crucial to manage our finances effectively to avoid running at a loss. Lastly, I gained the insight that becoming a thought leader in one's industry is not a luxury; it's a valuable currency.

The Visioning Retreat helped me see clearly beyond what we had and how we could evaluate our current realities at the time and also plan to scale as an organization. This became clear after the Visioning Retreat. In my organization we implemented the following after the Visioning Retreat: - We introduced new practices for the different departments -We onboard up to 7 more key team members to help our expansion - We saw the need to organize periodic retreats within the organization to help us relax, evaluate, and strategize - We implemented team personal development to help everyone with their roles in the organization. The Visioning Retreat Tools for Personal Life and Organization was a highlight. This helped me to look inward for myself as a visionary on this journey. I could ask questions about what I should be doing to be better and live better as a person first before a leader. I also understood that I am the biggest investment I can make-- it would reflect on every other thing I do.

Our strong desire was to establish robust systems for The Coding Mum, to position ourselves prominently on the global stage. Following our participation in the Visioning Retreat, the very first change we encountered was a profound shift in mindset. We addressed and transformed our fixed mindsets regarding our operations and funding strategies. Embracing a more open and receptive attitude, we began to welcome a plethora of ideas, concepts, and insights. The implementation of these newfound perspectives brought about a remarkable and positive transformation. Thanks to this shift, we were successful in positioning The Coding Mum to attract funding opportunities. We secured a significant partnership with a Web3 company, which opened doors to much-needed funding. The pivotal insight gained was the importance of strategic positioning. The Visioning Retreat was a transformative experience that I wholeheartedly recommend to any visionary seeking to create a substantial impact.
